Question 1

What is a design-build contractor?

Accepted Answer

A design-build contractor manages both the design and construction of a project under one contract, instead of the owner hiring separate design and construction firms. It is the single-source model Target Constructors already offers, one team accountable for the drawings, the budget and the finished building.

Question 2

What's the difference between a general contractor and a construction manager?

Accepted Answer

A general contractor typically holds the construction contract and delivers the finished project. A construction manager is usually hired directly by the owner to oversee the project on their behalf, often without holding the trade contracts. Target Constructors works as the general contractor and, on design-build projects, carries the design contract as well.

Question 3

How do I hire a commercial general contractor?

Accepted Answer

Look for a licensed, bonded contractor with direct experience in your building type, verifiable past projects you can go look at, and a clear single point of contact from bid through completion. Target Constructors has been doing exactly that in Fresno County since 1985, 40+ years of buildings you can drive to.
